Last but not least

Yesterday was the last lecture I attended.
The last lecture for my four-year program.
In another two weeks, I will attend my final examination.
Poster presentation will start after the exams and last for two days.
After the presentation, it's the time to pass up my final year project.
By the end of May,
I shall pass up the bound copy of my thesis.
And then, it will be a time to farewell.

*sad yet happy*

Random

~SUDOKU~
7 years ago, I started blogging.
Flashing my memory back to that time,
I still remember...
My first post was about SUDOKU.
I wrote a comprehensive post about this puzzle game.
It was then that I realized my passion towards SUDOKU.
It never changed all these while.
In fact, I play SUDOKU up to this day.
It serves as my best companion, my best listener,
especially when I feel bad about my life and all sorts.

~GROWTH~
I just realized how things have changed in 7 years.
From secondary school to Form 6 years and then to university life,
I noticed that I did change in terms of my thinking and life perspective.
People around me too, have changed a lot.
Nothing I can do to stay forever in one stage of life.
Life keeps going, it's an cycle.
Once you start your "engine", you can only refill your "petrol" but never to "shut down"
until the time comes,
when God calls you HOME.

~STUDY~
4 years...
I have been studying in a local public university for 4 years.
While I'm in the tertiary level, I have seen many faces of people.
of good and bad.
Some just being nice to you for certain purpose.
While only a few are true friends.
This, may be the reality of the world.
To some extent,
selfishness will overpower sincerity.

Occasional Outing

Went to Putrajaya yesterday.
We thought of watching hot air balloon there.
The hot air balloon will be held only from 18 March to 21 March 2010.
This year will be the second year they launch the program.

Unfortunately, the weather turned out to be cloudy on the first day.
The workers failed to launch the hot air balloon despite several attempts.
We were disappointed.
I think those who bought the tickets to ride on the balloon will be more disappointed.

Anyway, we managed to take some photos.
Mostly scenery photos.

Singapore Trip

Went to Singapore for a short and brief trip.
Went on 26 Feb early morning and back to KL on 27 Feb early evening.
We stayed at Hotel 81 Rochor.
The hotel is 5 minutes walking distance to the Bencoolen Complex and 7 minutes walking distance to Bugis Street.
If you are in a group of three, the room rate for a triple room is 159 SGD.
In Singapore, better don't take risk to stay in standard room for two when you come with more than two persons.
There is strict surveillance over the hotel stay and penalty will be imposed if you go against their rules.

First stop, we visited the latest landmark in Singapore - the Esplanade.
Amazed to witness the creative architecture of this building using durian as its 'shell'.

~The Esplanade~

Second stop, we went to Merlion Park, just 5 minutes walking distance from the Esplanade.
Singapore has well-organized underpass and signboards which give us clear-cut direction.

-----------
I was amazed by the uniqueness of each building in Singapore.
Even the shopping mall also has cutting edge design.

LOT 10 Hutong

Went to Lot 10 Hutong twice.
This food court is unique in terms of serving non-halal foods.
Also, this food court gathers most of the local Chinese cuisine in KL.
You can try the foods from Imbi market up to China town.

~Hokkien Mee at Kim Liang Kee~
Heard that Kim Liang Kee only sells limited servings of Hokkien mee per day.
The stall always jam-packed with people queuing for its Hokkien mee.

~Bak Kut Teh at Mao San Gao (Klang)~
Mao San Gao serving the most popular Bak Kut Teh in Klang.
Now you no need to go that far to Klang.
Just drop by Lot 10 Hutong to satisfy your tummy.
The soup is thick and gives mouth feel.
Costs almost RM 16 for this set.

~Beef Noodle~

Forgot the stall name @@
It served the best beef noodle.
The meat balls are very elastic and fresh.

~Hong Kee porridge~

I love this porridge.
Served with meat balls inside.
Yummy.

~Sherbet at Ice Room~

Costs around RM 8 for one bowl.
Nothing very special about this dish.
It gives cool and cold sensation though. :p

Sibu, Bintangor, Sarikei and Betong Trips

Arrived at Sibu Airport on the first day.
The airport really looked like Kuching Airport a few years back.
Someday, this airport will develop into one of the busiest in the state. :)

I stayed at the RH Hotel, just adjacent to the Wisma Sanyan (Shopping Complex).
The room was clean and newly renovated.
Quite a strategic location for traveler.

First destination.
Went to Jade Dragon Temple.
Located somewhere along the Sibu-Bintulu road.

~Jade Dragon Temple~

Next, we proceed to have our morning tea.
Kampua and Kompia near Sibu town area.

~Kompia (with fillings)~

Went to Jason Bakery.
Located in Sibu town.
Small shop, not easily noticeable.
They are still using the traditional way of making Kompia.
I'm lucky to witness the making process.

Stop at Lau King Howe Hospital Memorial Museum.
Being the one and only one museum in Malaysia featuring all medical equipments from past to present.
Free entrance.

~Sibu 7-storey Pagoda~

~Sibu Landmark: The Swan Statue~

~Fruit Ice (Sui Guo Bin)~

In Bintagor, we went to Wong Hong Ping stall for the infamous rojak.
The rojak is served with plenty of homemade peanuts with its own secret recipe of rojak sauce.
Bought the sauce and peanuts back too.

In Sarikei, we were lucky to visit a family which specialized in making Mee Sua.

Went to Sebangkoi Country Resort located quite a distant from Sarikei town.

In Betong, we had prawn mee for lunch.

Christmas Dinner

It's Christmas season again.
A time to show our gratitude and appreciation to loved ones.
A time to celebrate birthday of Jesus.

We went to Four Point by Sheraton in Kuching for Christmas buffet dinner.
Kinda crowded in the restaurant.
People were all wearing nice clothes.

The restaurant has several sections.
Chinese cuisine, Japanese cuisine, Indian cuisine, Italian cuisine, and many more.
We ate till the fullest.

Here are some snapshots of the gingerbread cake and some desserts.
